AusGrid Projects 

AusGrid is the major Electricity Distribution company for the Sydney area, covering from Waterfall in the south, through the city area and Central Coast to the Upper Hunter in the north.

A major CBD sub-station

This major 132kV/11kV Zone sub-station supplies power to much of the Sydney CBD area.

Dave led 2 upgrades of the RTU50 RTUs used for the SCADA system in the substation.  The second of these changed the SCADA protocol for communicating with the city control room from Conitel to DNP3.

Other Activities

• Presented a training course on RTU50 and SCD5200 RTUs to AusGrid engineers.
• Provided maintenance support on some of their more involved issues.
